The Art of Being Scolded

Standard

I read about something interesting in the newspaper recently.

The article is titled : the art of scolding and being scolded . ( It is written in Mandarin so i will try my best to explain it)

But what i have more interest is the ‘ art of being scolded . It say when a boss scold the subordinate, he/she is not scolding the person, but more like scolding the position.

Example: when my boss scolded me, he/she is not really scolding Edel Twong but rather he/she is scolding Research Assistant . So let’s say Jane Doe is in my position , Jane will get the same scolding.

It also say one shall not take it personally and shall separate oneself from the real me when steps into the office. Take me as an example again, when i step into my office i am no longer Edel Twong but rather a Research Assistant.

So when i got a praise during working time i am not being praise because i am Edel Twong but rather because of i am a Research Assistant. Like wise when i got scolding, i shall not be to depress over it as it is most likely due to work related.

So bear in mind , the next time your boss ‘ punch you in the face with words, degrade you until you feel like a the scum who live in the pond or plash dog’s blood over your head.’ remember remember he/she is scolding the position rather then you as a person. So DO NOT feel insulted.

Now the ultimate question is : WHO CAN DO THAT???

About edeltwong

Edel enjoy good food and good laughs with friends & family. She likes bright colors and RED is her favorite. She is vain and thinks that she is an artificial beauty. She needs more friends and parties !
